Havana Twist are a great Winter Protective Style. Not only do they blend nicely with your natural hair, but the thickness of the hair provides a great layer of warmth in the cold Winter months. Even though they sort of seem like a care free style, however you have to put in the work if you want to keep them looking good and if you want to see growth results and minimum breakage.
- It is very important that you keep your extension hair moist. Whether you use the actual Havana hair or the Marley hair both types of hair can become very dry and frizzy. To keep them with a radiant natural luster apply Castor oil. Castor oil works like a hair serum, its thickness perfectly absorbs itself into extension making to become shiny and it removes frizz. Not only does it absorb into the extension hair it moisturizes and nourishes your natural hair helping it to further blend into the extension hair.
- Keep your scalp oiled. Nourish your scalp with Castor Oil or any essential oil such as Peppermint or Rosemary oil helps to strength your scalp and it also assists with stimulating your scalp to promote hair growth.
- Do not tie your head down with a scarf. Tying your hair down with a scarf reduces the puffiness of the twist, which is the core look of the Havana Twist. Using a satin bonnet if they can fit instead.
